Bashir makes himself Prime Minister of Sudan. He also banned political parties and got rid of the Parliament. This was caused by Bashir's succesful coup. One outcome of this event would be that four years later he became the President of Sudan.

Omar Al-Bashir was accused of destroying the three main tribes in Darfur: Zur, Masalit, and Zaghawa. This all started because he was accused of torturing the tribes and sending them places they did not want to go. He made many excuses and denied different opinions so he could stay President of Sudan and not be arrested.

South Sudan gained independence by a Peace Treaty that ended Sudan's 22 year Civil War.
