Alexander freed the surfs of peasants of the country. Alexander used something called imperial order(executive order) to destroy the serfdom system. This system had forced all surfs and offspring's of surfs to be built into this never ending system. -

Killed by a bomb thrown at him. He was a great leader and fought for the people. However, at one point in his rule his power was questioned and instead of handling with peace he crushed it with violence. How he acted when his power was questioned is why the people decided to kill him. -

Germany became its own country. Germany became something called a nation state which is really just an independent country that ruled itself and did not take directions or laws from other countries or monarchs. -
European nations carve up Africa at the Berlin conference
European nations divided up Africa to get natural resources from it. Africa was mainly divided because all of the nations wanted the resources that were rich in the land. The main resource was rubber and the nations would kill and do almost anything to get this very precious resource. -
Dryfus convicted of treason
Sentenced for life for giving away military secrets. Dryfus was a French military officer that was sentenced to life in prison when he was even just suspected of giving military secrets to Germany.
