    The guillotine was a reason that the revolution began.

    Thousands of people were killed by the guillotine.
    National Assembly declared church officials, elected and paid as state officials. This angered many peasents.
    France declared war because of European threats.
    Maximillien Robespierre changes society.

    Ending
    The national assembly turns on Robspierre.
    The Reign of Terror ends with the execution of Robspierre.
