Pip vs Me Timeline: Jessica Nguyen

    My Life

Significant Events from when I was born, to now.
  • Fell Down Stairs

My first near death experience. I was playing tag with my sister when she accidently pushed me down some stairs. I am now cautious of climbing stairs.
  • Kindegarten

I entered kindergarten a bit later than most kids (one month later). It was also the first time I attended a school. From Kindergarten, first grade, second grade and onwards, I have been learning things I didn't know before. It was the starting point of my life.
  • Oxford Academy

My 6th grade teacher recommended me to Oxford Academy with my mother during a PT conference. It was unexpected, but my parents approved and I soon found myself here. Honestly, I wouldn't have known where to go if not for that. If I hadn't made it into Oxford, I wouldn't be here now.
  • Laptop

I got my very first laptop three years ago. It made surviving Oxford ten times easier. It made life ten times easier. It made me a person that would sit around the computer all day. If I didn't have my laptop now, I wouldn't be able to work on this timeline right now.
  • Joined Choir

I joined choir hoping it would help me gain confidence in myself, I didn't want to be the "me" in elementary school, I wanted to change. Joining choir allowed me to perform for the very first time on stage in front of a large audience (which I could never imagine myself doing). It pushed me out of my comfort zone (which means improvement). If I hadn't joined choir, I would be more awkward than I am now.
  • Joined Art

After a year of performing in Choir, I quit. I realized that choir wasn't the right choice for me. It changed me, yes, but I was uncomfortable with it. I joined art, it allowed me to relax and draw (overall, it was very enjoyable and I was able to work in a my-pace kind of way). It brings me one step closer my long term goal.
  • Front Yard Ran Over

This happened recently, but our entire front yard (fence and all) got ran over by a drunk driver. It was funny for me because it seemed like they were driving backwards. From this experience, I learned that I have a horrible reaction to serious situations.
