Church is Formally Established
L. Ron Hubbard formally establishes the "Church of Scientology" In Los Angeles, California after the publishing of "Scientology: A History of Man". -
Tax Exempt Status
The Church of Scientology is granted "Tax Exempt Status" meaning they do not need to pay taxes on the money that they earn as a church. -
Hubbard Moves
L. Ron Hubbard purchases the Saint Hill Mansion in Sussex, England which he plans to direct all operations of the church. -
The First Teton Reader is Released.
The Hubbard Mark II E-Meter followed by the Mark III was released in order to read a person's "Tetons" during the process of auditing. -

The Sea Organization is officially established and purchased of two used ships to conduct the organization from. -

The Sea Organizations begins offering advanced levels of scientology to the public onboard its flagship the "Royal Scotman" -
Celebrity Center Opens
The Church of Scientology Celebrity Center opens after the church gaining popularity throughout Hollywood. -
A New Leader
After the death of Hubbard David Miscavige became leader of the church out of the will of Hubbard himself. -
L. Ron Hubbard Dies
The founder of the Church of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard dies of a stroke at his home in Los Obispo, California. -
Tax Exempt Status
After a 40 year battle in the courts the church re-gained its tax exempt status in the United Sates. -
Denied in the UK
The Charity Commission for England and Wales denied "chartable status" for the church, citing there was no public benefit coming from the church. -
More Locations Open
In a bold move the church decides to open locations in Brussels, Quebec, Las Vegas, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Pasadena, and Seattle. All in countries with where the church is tax exempt. -

leader David Miscaviges' wife is last seen in public. -
Present Day
The church continues to open new locations throughout the U.S., England, New Zealand, etc while the wife of the leader has still not been seen to this day. No new books of the teachings of scientology have been released since the death of L. Ron Hubbard just new programs to go with the one that already exist.
