    My First Video Game- Pokemon
My first introduction to technology came when I was about 5 years old. Like many other kids, I was deeply invested in the Pokemon craze with the TV show and wanted to buy all of the merchandise that came with it. My parents bought me a new Nintendo GameBoy just so I could play the new Pokemon games. Thus, my first introduction to gaming began with Pokemon Blue. Image Credit: Wikipedia

I got my first computer right around the start of the new millenia as a gift from my uncle. While I still wasn't familiar with how to access the internet outside of what we did for school, it did allow me to draw and play games on it! Back then, that was all that I needed! Image Credit:

  • My First Introduction to Music

    My First Introduction to Music
Even though we owned a cd player, it was the iPod Nano that truly revolutionized how I would listen to music. I no longer felt the need to be in the car or within range of a computer screen to hear it. I always took the iPod with me whenever my family would go on vacations or even if we went on short trips to the grocery store. It was one of the best gifts I had ever received! Image Credit:

  • My First Introduction to Social Media

Back when I was in the 10th grade, some of my friends were talking about this incredible new way to communicate with their friends and family. They were using this program called "FaceBook," which at the time I had no idea what it was. When I got home that day, I decided to look it up and made my own account. It also peaked my interest in using other social media apps like Twitter and Instagram as a means of contacting all the important people in my life.

    My First Laptop Computer
I received my first laptop as a holiday gift from my parents to use for college. At that time, I was still undecided on a major and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Having that laptop though made it extensively easier for me to complete my coursework and do some studying at the campus library. It became my primary means of conducting educational research. My First SmartPhone
I got my first SmartPhone back in 2017 after my previous contract had expired. Moving to an iPhone 7 after spending so many years with a flip phone presented a new challenge for me. It took me a while to figure out how to use the Internet on it and how to purchase music/movies off of the iTunes store. Nevertheless, I am happy I made this upgrade. Image Credit:

  • My First Introduction to Microsoft Teams

Like most others, the COVID pandemic had a dramatic impact on the way I went about my day-to-day life. I no longer had students in the classroom to teach and all forms of communication had to be presented online. It was a new obstacle that I had yet to face in my teaching career, and it was my first introduction to communication platforms like Microsoft Teams. It may not have been the most effective approach to learning, but it was our only option and it kept the students safe!
