    1. Pre Production: Planning
My teacher gave my group and me a script from ‘Hotel Babylon’. Based on the script role were then assigned; I was a police officer called ‘Gary’.
Each one of us then had to learn our lines and if needed slight adjustments was made.
However, my character did not have any lines in the script and so I helped others and reflected on how a police officer would behave.

    Pre Production: Filming
Our teacher gave us the whole lesson to film, as it required a few attempts to get the footage needed. This was because people forgot lines etc. For example, when filming I started laughing and so we had to re film that particular scene. In addition we tried to keep within the 180-degree rule but we broke it once in our prelim.

Using Final Cut Pro (FCP), each of us had a turn at editing during the first half of the lesson. I found it quite difficult to edit, as it was the first time I had used the software but as a group we managed to create a prelim based on the TV program given to us.

After everyone had finished editing their prelims, my group and I were then able to show our preliminary to the rest of our class and our teacher.
