Our family is going to Canada. Although, it is my second time to ride a plane I am nervous as we have to fly three times to get to Yellowknife. My father’s permanent residents request has been approved so we migrated to Canada. -
It’s my first time going to school in Yellowknife, NT. It is very challenging for me because I have to speak in English. It is not my first language so it is very difficult. -
Not all schools back home are fortunate to have fully utilized parks/playgrounds. I was so excited to see that they are in this country. Most importantly, they are free. -
Because of the cold weather in Yellowknife, we have to wear double layer clothes. My mom often calls us astronauts because of these clothes. It helps to warm us up. -
It is my dream to see snow as the country where I have been is so very hot especially during Summer. It is my first time to see raining snowflakes. I am so amazed and happy. -
I love fishing and we were not given a chance to do this in the Philippines. So when we got here in Canada, my dad bought a fishing rod for each of my brothers and we finally did it. It is so fun and enjoyable. -
My first time learning French was very hard. I can barely talk. But, I find it cool to be able to speak French. -
Our sport back home is basketball. But here, it appears to be football. Although I do not know how to play it, it is fun to learn the sport. -
Northern Lights (Borealis) is very popular and I also dreamt of seeing it. One late night in Yellowknife, my parents' friends call us and say there is one showing near their terrace. I love the beautiful colors. -
It is my first time doing online learning. I find it very convenient, but hard at the same time because teaching is impersonal. Also, I cannot make friends with my classmates.
