My Life in Movies

  • Birth

    I was born
  • Toy Story (1995)

I remember I would always watch the scene with Woody and the guy who was sleeping and spilled his cheetos, and he had to sneak around and not step on the cheetos. I don't know why I remember it so vividly but I still remember it to this day.
  • Cars (2006)

I liked a character in this movie. Mater, the beat down tow truck was my favorite as a little kid. I thought he was hilarious and always brought light to bad situations because of his funny personality.
  • Ratatouille (2007)

I really liked this movie because the character Remy resembles perserverance and overcoming adversity. He is a rat, and that is quite a huge problem but since he is such a good chef, he has to overcome the adversity of him being a rat and the stigma of rats vs humans.
  • The Simpsons Movie (2007)

I remember watching this movie a ton of times with my brother because it was the only movie we had and actually liked on disc and we got a new computer and we would always watch it together
  • Madagascar (2005)

This movie has a setting that reminds me a lot of home. I always watched this movie with my mom and I loved it. I had seen it over and over again like The Simpsons Movie I mentioned. I really liked all the characters and the way that each one had noticeably different character traits which made each one a different personality type.
  • Forrest Gump (1994)

I like the main character, Forrest, because he is quite the guy. Although he may seem different, he is caring and ambitious and does what he feels is right, all while keeping his eyes on what is most important to him, Jenny.
  • Step Brothers (2008)

This movie has a title that connects with me. Me and my brother are half brothers, because we share the same dad but different moms. We would always think we were step brothers when we were younger because we got it mixed up with half brothers. Also, the pranks and things they do to each other in the movie like brothers would, me and my brother did a lot too. We would mess with each other because we were kids like that.
  • WALL-E (2008)

I liked the setting of this movie. It shows a broken down earth with a robot, WALL-E, who cleans the trash. In a spaceship way up in space, all the humans live a lazy life. They hoverchair around and eat junk food. This shows that if we do not take care of the earth, it will end up being a reality. Earth was destroyed, and we lived a careless life up above
  • Mac & Devin Go to High School (2012)

Okay so I know this one looks bad but hear me out. Little Stephen was really nervous about high school and I had no idea what it was gonna be like. Keep in mind I had a brother in high school during this who was probably the worst example and always got in trouble (I love him very much though). I also heard that this movie was funny. It reminds me of times where I was younger and unaware / innocent about what happened in high school, so I thought this was what it would be like. (setting)
  • Rocky (1976)

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!”
  • Rocky (1976)

The quote I put in the other event is the quote I chose from this movie. It is a very popular quote and it connects with me because it is from a mentor/learner point of view. It shows how the world works and how to overcome adversity in the world, and it motivates me to do better. "Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody."
  • The Martian (2015)

I liked the scenes where he would talk about the logic and science behind what he was doing, like growing the potatoes on Mars. It really helped me understand the science behind space exploration and botany.
  • Dope (2015)

About a nerdy kid growing up in a bad neighborhood, it shows how he continued doing what he liked to do while still being labeled a nerd. He went through tough decisions and did what he had to do to defend himself and his family, and despite his label of being a nerd, ended up being very well respected in his community. I like this movie overall and the coming-of-age theme of it really connected with me as the main character grew and had to do what he did.
  • Creed (2015)

    Creed (2015)
This movie has two quotes. "Every punch I've ever thrown has been on my own. Nobody showed me how to do this. I'm ready." It reminded me of all the hard work and changes that I had put into my life to make myself a better person than I was. The other quote is "That's the toughest opponent you're ever going to have to face." and when the quote is said, it is a mirror reflection. This spoke to me by motivating me to keep bettering myself as only I can hold myself back.
  • The Lion King (1994)

I watched this movie very recently as a lot of people told me I was missing out by not seeing it. I like the character Simba in this movie for many reasons. He was a very curious cub and really enjoyed running around and was confident in being the next great king. Once he was king, he brought back honor to his land and defended his territories name and his father's name. This is very motivational as he protected what was his and brought it honor and pride,
  • Warrior (2011)

I watched this recently at Allen's house. It is about two brothers who are fighters, and for the final match they have to fight each other, and they both took very different paths in life apart from each other. Also, the father is unliked by both of them because he wasn't there for them really. I liked the setting and message of this movie because it shows that at the end of the day, things get hard and people have to take their own paths in life but family will always be there for each other.
