Life timeline

  • Where it all began

This is the day I was born. This is really interesting to me because of social roles. When I was born I think we're put into a role of our gender. As a male we're not allowed to express our emotions. We're ecpected to man up when we're struggling and this is a huge probelm. just look at male sucide rates it;s throguth the roof becusae of stupid outdated socail norms.
  • Youth

When I was 6 months I became extremely sick. This is where we talk about social institutions and in this case we're talking about health. Here in Canada we have free healthcare and I'm extremely fourtanite for this becuase without it ther would be no way my familt could afford my extensives procidures. This case of a socail instiution clearly for me was a good expirence.
  • Current

It was a tragic event in my life my uncle passed away and of course, this really affected me. My entire life I never expressed my emotions I remember trying so hard to hold back tears in front of everyone and I think that's extremely messed up. Where a young male can't even cry over an experience like that because his whole life he's not allowed to be emotional and that he's being weak for it. This is how society was and still is but it's getting better.
  • The future

After this, you can tell how I strongly disagree with some of the social norms set in place. Having certain expectations because of gender is not a healthy way to treat people. We're becoming so left wing and progressive where we're seeing a lot of social justice and protesting of the 'system'. There's pros and cons to having these things in palce in our society.
