  • Impressment of sailors

    This was when the sailors of Britain took American sailors and made them there own
  • Washington’s Proclamation of Neutrality

    in this Proclamation Washington stated that the U.S. was to be neutral in all aggers between Great Britain and France and that they would not get in between there wars.
  • Jay Treaty

    Was the treaty that was proposed to help and stop the violence against America from the British during the time but also at the time we were at peace with France who was a t war with Britain so many people thought it was a betrayal to France.
  • Washington's Farewell Address

    In President Washington's Farewell Address he stated that we just needed to stay out of the conflicts of of Europe and that worked well and help for so long all the way till 1812.
  • Cheasapeake-Leopard Affair

    a naval engagement that occurred off the coast of Norfolk, Virginia, on June 22, 1807, between the British warship HMS Leopard and the American frigate USS Chesapeake. The crew of Leopard pursued, attacked, and boarded the American frigate, looking for deserters from the Royal Navy.
  • Embargo Act of 1807

    The Embargo Act of 1807 was a law passed by the United State Congress and signed by President Thomas Jefferson on December 22, 1807. It prohibited American ships from trading in all foreign ports.

    This was very important because these where people looking to go to war with Britain and eventually convinced Jefferson to do so in 1812

    It was at the battle of Tims that Tecumseh was killed in battle during the war of 1812.

    This was the start date of the war of 1812 that happened because of the things the British were doing to the American sailors and citizens and there refusal to leave American territory.

    The Hartford Convention was a series of meetings from December 15, 1814 – January 5, 1815, in Hartford, Connecticut, United States, in which the New England Federalist Party met to discuss their grievances concerning the ongoing War of 1812
  • Treaty of Ghent

    The Treaty of Ghent was the peace treaty that ended the War of 1812 between the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Both sides signed it on December 24, 1814, in the city of Ghent, United Netherlands.
