    Luther's 95 Theses
    Luther took a stand against the Roman Catholic Church and wrote the 95 theses which discussed his opposition to the way that the popes and priests were running the church. He felt that the Church had become corrupt, especially with the widespread misleading use of indulgences. This document is known for the start of the Protestant Reformation.

    Luther appeared before the Diet of Worms
    Luther appeared before an assembly of princes and nobles about his writings that had become widespread due to the invention of the printing press. Luther was asked to revoke his statements and recant his writings. He refused to recant which was a huge declaration of faith.

    Baptism of Grebel and Blaurock

    George Blaurock and Conrad Grebel whom identified with the Zwinglis believed that baptism should take place once one becomes an adult and makes the conscious decision to do so, opposing the common practice of infant and mass baptism. Their views were condemned and in opposition, they held the first adult baptism in the home of one of their friends who shared the same views.

    Menno Simons was rebaptized

    Although a Catholic priest, Menno Simons began to relate to the anabaptists because of his pacifist attitude as well as his belief system. It is thought that Simons was rebaptized around 1531. I think this date is relevant because he wss the voie of the Mennonite and Anabaptist community while taking a stance against the Roman Catholic Church in which he belonged to and dedicated his studies and work to.

    Luther translated the Old Testament and New Testament, which resulted in a completely German translated Bible to be published.

    King Henry VIII became Supreme Head of Church

    Henry VIII King of Englad separated from Rome and becamse the Supreme from Rome and becamse the "supreme head of church" in England, which created the Church of Englad. I think that this was very relevant going to show how much power the King's had over religion.

    John Calvin works in Geneva

    John Calvin's theology and proclamations were known very well across France, and in 1536 decided to take a short detour in Geneva. The town's people grew found of his ideas but eventually in 1538 was banished along with his fellow scholars for their Protestant viewpoints. I feel as though this is very symbolic because after this Calvin did not give up, but continue with his studies and teachings and represented and stood up for others that thought of themselves as Protestants.

    Luther's death

    Luther passed away in 1546 with many physical ailments. He stuck wtih his faith until his last day, and throughout his life paved the way for many great maytrs and protestors to come. His impact forever left a lasting impression.

    During Edward the VI's reign, Protestanism was first established in country of England, which was a huge move for all protestants to be allowed to practice their faith and voice their opinions.
