I moved west because I didnt have much money, didn't have much food, I had a terrible job and my mother died. I'm moving west because there are more jobs, more money, and its more safe. I brought the clothes on my back, my sister Kaitlyn, crystal glasses of my mothers to sell, and a journal to record my journey. -

Arriving
We arrived at the boat/caused lots of pushing and shoving getting onto the boat
The boat was big and dirty and the rich got special places where poor people were in a different, dirtier place. -

Once we saw the statue of liberty/ we realized my sister and I had arrived in America. America seemed so nice and clean with many people treated the same -
Finding a Job
Trying to find and job/to make money and move west. There were many jobs to choose from but we had to pick one to make money. Not many people would hire us because of the way we look and the way we dressed. -
Starting to Move West
Worked very hard for months/got paid very little. We worked as farmers and finally made enough money to move west -
Made it to the West. Now what?
We made it to the west/need to buy two horses and fight for land.
After walking for many miles for many months we made it to the west, now we need to work for a little while to get money for horses and food to live -
Fight for Land
We found land to get in the race/the race started There were many people and the ones who cheated were killed. We went out on our horses and my sister and I found the land that we wanted. -
