Arrived at the U.S.
My first day in America. My wife and I made it to Ellis Island from Italy. I'm already planning to get a job as a roughneck. I'm not afraid of heights, and
I'm strong. As we got there, the place was packed. The immigration station was filled
to the rims with people from across the world. Eventually, my wife and I got through
the paperwork and into the city. It was huge! New York was bigger than I thought,
compared to our old country of Italy. We found an apartment in the slums. -
Job as a roughneck
I landed a job at a building company, just what I hoped to get. My first day is
tomorrow. We are starting on a new building, and it's going to be big. I'm also adopting cats off the street because they have no home. I'm up to fifteen now. They come and go when they please. I'm also getting into a lot of fights lately over some money I owe some people. It's not going so good. My wife also got a job somewhere making clothes or something. -
Job problems
Crimes around our house are getting bigger and the police are after a lot of people. We still live in the slums, and we still have our same jobs. Things are pretty much what they've been for the last 10 years. My wife and I are getting farther apart, and we don't talk to each other much. My job has also been getting easier though, because I'm getting more and more used to it. I'm one of the pros up on the buildings, but that doesn't mean I don't watch my step. New Costruction
I'm hearing about a new big building about to be built, and my company is getting the job. This building isn't going to be like the other, no, it's going to be huge, It's called the Empire State building or something, I don't remember. We're supposed to start the project next year, so I'm going to have to be doing a lot of work soon. Also, I've been running low on money lately, and I've been getting ideas. Started Construction
My company has been at work on this Empire State building for a while now and it's turning out to be pretty good. We should be done by next year. My last resort finally came. I robbed the bank. I didn't take too much, but enough to be noticed. The police have clues it was me, so I have to keep quiet. Who knows how much longer I have until the cops get me.
