My great grandfather lived in Bulacan, Philippines with his wife and 9 children. With this amount of children and responsibilities, it was extremely difficult to support his family to the fullest. He decided that he does not want his family in the future to keep living like this, so he saved enough money by selling produce from the farm to go to America. He went to America in 1963, found a good job, and retired with many houses, numerous great-grand children, and a wonderful family.

On August 28, 1988 my grandpa, his wife and five children (shown above) came to America. My grandpa had the opportunity to come to America because he worked as a federal worker for 23 years. When they came to America, the children felt very uncomfortanle and wanted to leave. They didn't see a difference in the way people acted because they were treated poorly. After years of being in America, they became very successful throughout all the hardships they faced.
