When I was born.

Dec 25, 1835

I was born at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

I arrive at Angel Island.

Jan 23, 1855

I arrive at Angel island. It smells like the end of a donkey. This place is filthy, there are flies circling around everyone and everything. There are also dead birds and animals on the ground. The disisions I make are risky, but I will become a German Immagrant.

My Raise because of Independence day.

Jul 4, 1855

My boss gave me a raise because of this special occasion.

The people here are disgusting.

Sep 3, 1857

The people here look like zombies. They all have ripped clothing, they have dirty rags.There are kids lying on the ground sleeping, at least I hope they are sleeping. I look kind of like them, but not as raggy and smelly.

Where I found myself at.

Jan 20, 1858

I was "shipped" to Chicago were I found a job as a "rough neck" meaning a guy who Walks on beams that makes a skyscraper. We sleep, and we have our breakfast lunch and dinner up there.

My Boss.....

My boss is a really tuff guy to please. If you don’t get to were you are supposed to be he will get people, or himself and push you off the edge of the building. He can be understanding, and he can be mean.He does pay a
decent amount of money, but it is less then a typical American.

I got into a fight, and did "time" for it.

Oct 8, 1859

I was walking down the street, and this American walked right into me. He turned
around and started to yell at me. Then he shoved me. That’s when I knew I was in trouble. All these Americans surrounded us, and he started telling them that they were going to hurt me. Sure enough they all surrounded me and started to beat me. I had to go to jail for it to.
