The French were split into three different estates.The estates were basically status groups. It ranged from clergy to nobles to everyone. The first estate (clergy) were leaders of the church.
The second estate (nobles) were people in the military, government, law courts, members of the Roman Catholic church, kings, queens, and etc.
The third estate (everybody else) were people who worked everyday jobs. They range from poor to wealthy. They were doctors, craftsman, peasants, and etc. -
He was born 1769 on an island called Corsica. His family didn't come from money but, he was smart enough to get a scholarship to a brilliant military school. He wasn't really liked however, he eventually became commander of the French armies in Italy. He won many battles and was well-known. He tried to take Egypt from Britain but, failed and he went back to Paris.

The middle class didn't find it fair that they didn't have privileges but, the high class did. People who were upset decided to take action against Louis XVI.

French had developed a money shortage. There was "food shortages, rising prices for food,and unemployment." However, leaders still continued to spend money on luxuries. They also decided to help the American colonist which made the French lose a lot of money. All of this caused Louis XVI to raise taxes.

Attackers attacked the French guard. They fought for four hours until the warden of the prison surrendered. They released the prisoners and cut the warden's head off. They eventually tore the Bastille bricks down. The "peasant" being upset began to rebel, this became a panic called the Great Fear

France got a new Constitution. They decided to have a legislative make all the laws instead of the king.

A new rule was created known as the Reign of Terror. During the Reign of Terror, more than 40,000 people were killed. No matter the age, social status, gender, and etc, thousands of people were killed.

They made the decision to execute King Louis XVI. However, the execution created more problems for France.

After Robespierre was killed, the Reign of Terror ended due to Jacobins losing all of their power. Law of 22 Prairial let prisoners be released back.

The Directory was made with only 5 people. However, it didn't last long due to the amount of corruption.

When he moved back to Paris, he joined the coup d’état, to set up a new government. Napoleon had all the power even though it was a republic. He called consul for life and soon after crowned Emperor Napoleon I.

Napoleon invades Russia because they didn't want to be in the Continental System anymore. He had sent a 600 army to enter Russia. The Russian didn't want to fight so they left and burned their villages so the Grande Army wouldn't find food. The Russian ended up fighting at Borodino, the Grand Army won, however, a lot of people died. They returned back to Poland the following year in January
