    Due to the French help the Americans recieved in the American Revolution, the French government had a large debt. They also accumulated a large debt after the seven years war. Also bad harvests and famile plagued the french at this time.

    The revolutionaries of France stormed the bastile a fortress and prison. They believed it was a symbol of royal power. There was also weapons being stored at the bastile. (Revolutionaries like weapons)

    Declaration of the Rights of Man and of Citizen
    The Declaration was was made to declare the rights of people living in france. The declaration included many espects of natural rights. It declared all citizens equall under the law.

    Due to a rumor of the queen hoarding grain in Versailles, a group of angry women stormed the palace. Many demanded for the queens death. They traveled from Paris which is about 6 hours. They also had other greivences.

    After trying to flee and many attempts. The royal family was taken to Paris were it was determind that they would be placed under house arrest. They were then taken to Tuileries.

    The Revolutionary Wars began in 1792, and consisted of many French victories throughout the European Peninsula. These victories consisted of the Italian Peninsula and the Rhine.

    In September of 1792, France proclaimed themselves a Republic. This was a pivotal point in the revolution because it looked forward to a future without a mnarch. This was promising to the French people.

    King Louis XVI was exectuted in public with a guillotine. This was a major victory for the rebels of France, and it later showed that they could kill anyone, leading to the Reign of Terror.

    Robespierre, a head of the French Revolution, was executed by guillotine without trial on July 28. 2014. The reasoning behind the execution was that Robespierre was accused a traitor by the convention.

    Napoleon staged a coup d'etat in 1799 successfully seizing all French power. He did so through his skills as a military officer, and all the French people loved hm for his active participation during the Revolutionary Wars. He then went on for European conquest, and then the world, but was stopped by Russia.
