    The Crusades

    Muslims took over the holy lands and charlemagne sends soldiers on a holy mission to reclaim the holy lands.. The crusades caused the soldiers to discover that the muslims had preserved ancient texts.

    The Renaissance

    Crusaders discover Ancient Roman and Greek tablets about their ancient empire and they decide to follow in their foot steps which started the Renaissance. This was a time of great progress because art, reading, inventions, education, humanity, and humanism flourished.

    The Renaissance started the bubonic plague and killed 1/3rd of the European population. This caused people to become more cleanly.

    Gutenburg created the printing press and made books cheaper and more accesible to the public. Bibles were printed and this caused the Catholic church to lose power.
