My mother checked into Brotman Medical center at 5:30pm and I was born just before 9pm. I was 9 lbs 2 oz and was 18 inches.

    My life so far

  • Welcome Megan!

My mother was so tired after giving birth to her watermelon of a child that her and my dad waited to name me until a full 24 hours later due to lack of creativity.
  • Younger Brother Was Born

    Younger Brother Was Born
When my younger brother was born I was very excited. I had a sense of resposibility to watch him. Once I got sick of him though my emotions took a turn for the worse and I was jealous of all the attention he was receiving. Today we're great.
  • Moved from Los Angeles to San Francisco

My mother was born and raised in LA so when we had to move to San Francisco to help my grandfather both her and I were devastated. That's where my best friend lived and I didn't want to leave. Thankfully I was a very social child and made new friends wuickly, but I still missed LA very much. My mom and I would go back and visit every two months or so.
  • Started Catholic Middle School

I went to public school from Pre-K to 5th grade but then my father decided he wanted me to attend catholic school since the public schools in our neighborhood weren't teaching the best curriculum. Switching schools was hard for me because all of my friends from elementary school went to the same public middle school so I felt left out, and I had to start going to church more frequently and wear a uniform everyday. At first I hated it, I was a new kid-an outcast, but I worked my way in.
  • Grandfather Passed

My grandmother was so heartbroken that she stopped eating and rarely slept, my life began to revolve around taking care of her and her needs when I wasn't busy with school or swimming. My grandfather was the most loving, genuine man I know; he was a great listener, he had the best and worst jokes and my childhood would be tremendously different if he were not a part of it. His passing made me a little more bitter, he was the first family member I lost.
  • First Real Relationship

    First Real Relationship
Sam and I started dating at the end of my sophomore year. Being with him was great, he made me feel needed in a way that my friends and family didn't. Being with him opened me up to new people and new experiences.
  • Cousin Passed

    Cousin Passed
My oldest cousin Tony was in the navy for several years and when he came home on leave he was acting different than usual, the second night he was home he commited suicide. Some people said it was due to PTSD and others said it was because he was so heartbroken due to my grandfather's passing. My cousin passing lead to my dad's side of the family's relationship dissolving. My grandmother was in need of heko and ruined her relationship with my dad, they still don't speak & it's a large obstacle
  • License

    License
I wanted to get my permit as soon as I possibky could but my parent's made me wait 2 months and then when I could get my license they made me wait ANOTHER 2 months. Once I finally was able to take the test, I aced it and was the happiest I'd ever been. Having a license meant freedom, it was my first step to actual adulthood.
  • Senior Year Retreat

    Senior Year Retreat
When I went on my retreat Senior Year I really connected more with myself and many people in my class that I thought were 'off' or strange before. Going on retreat taught me to be a nicer person, not to judge a book by it's cover and reminded me that everyone has a back story and is living with their own problems.
  • First Real Break Up

I broke up with my first real boyfriend of almost 2 years purely out of boredom. I felt no emotions at the time but in the following weeks I began to feel sad and nostalgic, which was different for me because I'd never felt those sad emotions towards a guy before. It was a better choice overall since he was staying in the Bay Area and I was leaving, but it was an emotional trial.
  • High School Graduation

    High School Graduation
Graduated in the Saint Mary's College Auditorium in Moraga, Ca. Spent the rest of my day with my family in Walnut Creek and went out at night with my friends. Walking and receiving my diploma made me very proud, even though I had no doubts about graduating it was still a very proud, defining moment
  • Left for ASU

    Left for ASU
I left early in the morning for ASU and had to say goodbye to all of my friends, a couple of whom had slept over the night before. Everyone cried, especially my best friend Megan--we hugged and cried for like 10 minutes before I had to go
  • Move-In

    Move-In
The day I moved into my Hassy dorms I met my best friend, if I hadn't met her I don't know how my college experience thus far would've turned out. My first day on campus was frightening and very exciting, it made me proud to be away from my family.
  • First day of College

    First day of College
This was my first day at Arizona State University, I was nervous to walk into a college classroom to say the least but thankfully my classes didn't begin until 2:30pm that Thursday afternoon
  • Move Into My First House

    Move Into My First House
I moved into a house last August with my 3 best friends. Paying my own rent, utilities, and gas made me feel so adult and grown up. Although at times it can be grusome and I wish to be a kid again, I'm gainign great life skills
  • Great Grandmother Passed

    Great Grandmother Passed
My mother's side of the family is from Louisiana and is very influenced by their French and Southern heritage. Family was a huge part of my mother's life and consequently mine. I saw my great-grandmother on every holiday and when I still lived in Los Angeles she would watch me when my parents went out. Her passing was very sad, but she was 97 years old so it was semi-peaceful because I knew she had been in pain the past few years.
