    Expecting a large-scale Arab attack Isarael decided to strike first. Israel launched air strikes against Eygpt, Syria, and Jordan, destroying most of their airplanes on the ground. Israeli ground troops moved in and rapidly defeated Arab-forces.

    Eygpt and Syria endeavoured to win their territory and launch the " Yom Kippur War" . The launched this surprise attack against Israeli in 1973. The war takes its name from the jewish holyday when the attack began.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    Eygptain president Anwar Sadat made a momentous declaration, he wanted to peace. To help facilate this historic peace, U.S. president jimmy carter invited Sadat and Begin reached an agreement. Eygpt then recognized Israeli as a state and Israel returned the Sinai Penninsula tp eygpt.

    Tensions began building in the West Bank and Gaza, where Israeli had begun building settlements. In 1987 Palestinian resentment of Israeli occupation boiled over into a rebellion.
  • Second Intifadad

    This time Palestnian youths were joined by Palestinian security forces with guns. Hamas sent suicide bombers into Israel to attack civilians. The Israelis countered by sending troops backed by tanks, fighter jets, and helicopter gunships into cities in the West Bank and Gaza.
