school would only show me how to read but not understand by putting a time limit on what we are reading and reading assignments and telling us to ready our selfs but lucky for me my mom made sure I could read and understand what I am reading and I think this was the start of me mastering code switching without knowing it . although my mom would teach me how to say word and be able to communicate with people older and younger than me I would not feel comfortable to say certain words.

my mom not only helped me be able to say word but she would also help me properly form sentences and when I was younger her biggest thing was to annunciate. now when thinking back when it came down to talking and talking properly I would not give credit to the school system. I would give credit to my mom because when talking she would be the only person to tell me that's not how you say that when talking to them the teacher would just kind of let it go.
