    Introduce WebQuest to students and give procedures and instructions to them. Assign weekend homework: Watch prerecorded 5 part series on the Civil War at pbs.org.civilwar. NOTE: Each part of the series is 2 hours long. Please allow yourself sufficient time to watch. Take notes. Write a 300 word essay on which side (Union or Confederate) of the war you are going to do your timeline on AND why. Due Monday

You may use additonal VALID sites.You should expect to do additional research at home as the two class periods will not be sufficient. Gather as much information as possible for your side of the war. **Make sure when gathering information you note the date of the event or photo (if possible).

    As a group we will visit civilwar.com and study the interactive map of the Civil War. We will further explore the website; it is an informative website that is read like a newspaper about the events that took place during the war. Students will be encouraged to take notes and will help navigate through the website.

    Begin narrowing down what information you have gathered into an orderly and well constructed timelime using timetoast.com Dates, names, photos, maps, battelfield art, Medal of Honor winners, and any other vaild information you can think of should be on your timeline. Begin constructing your timeline.
