    Clement V, the newly selected pope, moved from Rome to the city of Avignon in France. Popes would live there for the next 69 years.

    The Council of constance attempts to end the Great Shism by shoosing a single pop. by now, there were a total of three popes: The Avignon pope, the Roman pope, and the third pope elected by an earlier council at Pisa.

    Jan Hus is seized by Church leaders

    Jan Hus, a professor in Bohemia, taught that the authority of the Bible was higher tham taht of the pope. Hus was excommunicated in 1412 and sized by the Church leaders in 1414.
