The Moors (Muslims) were attempting to aquire and conquer more territory in Europe. Their next target after Spain was Tours France. Charles Martel forced the moors to fight uphil into the trees. After waiting for 6 days, the Moors attacked but Martel's force held firm. This battle was a huge upset, the Moors had approximately 6 times as many troops as Charles Martel's army.
