  • Balfour Declaration

    The declaration was a letter from the UK's Foreign Secretary to Baron Rothschild onto the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland showing Britains support for the homeland in Palestine.
  • British Mandate for Palestine

    Control of Palestine given to the United Kingdom by the League of Nations. In order for the UK to give a national home to Jews and create a semi-autonomously region under the rule of the Hashemite family.
  • Partition Plan for Palestine

    In order to eliminate the mandate of the UK, the United Nations proposed a plan of partition to split the state into two seperate states with Jerusalem as a neutral ground. The Jewish public recognized this action while the Arab leaders did not. After Implementing, civil war broke out. The plan was never finished.
  • Suez Canal Crisis

    Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalized the Suez canal.This led to the UK, France, and Israel invading Egypt. Canadian Secretary of State saw it escalading to disastrous proportions and proposed creation of the first UN peacekeeping force. This would ensure access to all and an Israeli withdrawl from the Sinai Pennisula. Canadian Secretary later received Nobel Peace Prize.
  • PLO is Created

    The Palestinain Liberation Organization was created in order to represent the Arab people of Palestine and liberate them through armed struggle.
  • Six Day War

    When Israel saw Egyptian forces approaching they made preemptive airstrike on Egyptian airfields, gaining them air superiority. Through the next few days Israel used surprise to attack Arab nations bordering them. It ended with a ceasfire on the 11th.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Began when Arab coalitions launched a surprise attack on Israeli-occupied territories on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism. Egypt crossed the Suez Canal and the ceasfire lines, put the Israeli's soon brought themto a halt. The Syrians tried to make an assult but were swiftly pushed back. Lots of violence continued until the Camp David Accords.
  • First Intifada

    When Palestinians had a massive boycott of all things israeli the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) deployed some 80,000 tropps and initially fired live rounds. They adopted a policy of "breaking Palestinians' bones", a total of 2,000 Palestinians were killed during the Intifada.
  • Oslo Accords

    A set of agreements between the government of Israel and the PLO. A peace process that is aimed at achieving a peace-treaty based on the United Nations Security Council Resolution.
  • Second Intifada

    The second Palestinian uprising against Israeli's brought a total of 4,000 deaths and only ended in 2005 when President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon agreed to stop all acts of violence.
