The earliest historians of the Apostolic Church date its beginnings to 1911 when three groups of people in three locations in the village of Pen-y-groes received the Pentecostal baptism in the Holy Spirit. -
In 1916, Daniel Powell Williams, known as Pastor Dan, founded the first Apostolic Church. He was a Welsh man born on May 5th, 1882. The first Church was established in Penygroes, England. -
Apostolic Churches started to spread all over England. Some of these Churches were located in Birmingham, Bournemouth, previously mentioned Penygroes, and Bradford, among many more. -
In 1969, the first Apostolic church of the 1916 denomination was formed in North Carolina. -
In 2016, the church celebrated its 100-year anniversary. By this point, the church has amassed over 15 million members spanning roughly 100 different countries.
