Active For Life

  • Period: to

    My Life

I do believe there will be many times where I won't be able to commit to what I've set out, however I won't let that get me down. Instead, I will adjust and adapt and find a way to stay active while enjoying it.
  • Period: to

    Soccer

    -From Ages 5 through 7
-I would say it was at a recreational level except that I was part of team and didn't really play it for fun (I don't remember why but I tried to skip often). So it was at a competitive level.
-Was in a girls soccer group
-As I was young but lively, there actually weren't too many health concerns Only thing I should be careful for is drinking enough water and not getting heatstroke. I played defense and asthma wasn't much of an issue.
    -Physical and Social benefits
  • Period: to

    Walking

-AT age 16 (summer vacation, hopefully after that too, but probably not with APs)
-It will be at a recreatinal level as this isn't really competitive.
    -With my sister
-Currently the main issue is my asthma. I was going to put running however I feel at my current state it's more important to start out walking. But, I also now have tips for my asthma which I researched.
-Physical (for asthma), Social, (with sister), Mental (endorphins), Spritual (thinking time)
  • Period: to

    Badminton

    -From Ages 17 through 21
    -Recreational level
    -Was 1-3 other friends
-Luckily, it's still when I'm young. Maybe asthma might be an issue. Other than that, seeing as though I am in college, I might be stressed from all the work so I have to be careful.
-Physical (moving around, reflexes, etc.) and Social (with friends) benefits
  • Period: to

    Swimming

    -From Ages 25 through 50
    -Recreational level
    -By myself
-Again, my asthma is an issue, but hopefully that won't be too troublesome. In the later years, I probably would be short on energy but I could adjust the intensity. However, I know this is possible as my father is in his 50s and still swims (granted, not very fast). Joints might be an issue too,
-Physical (heart, arms, legs), Emotional, Mental, Spirtual (lots of thinking time for myself and good way to release stress) benefits
  • Period: to

    Walking/Running

    -From Ages 50 through 65
    -Recreational level
-Possibly alone or with partner or friends
-My heart, asthma, and overall taxing on my body are possible issues. However, I feel like walking/running would be more benefitial to my health than harmful. Ideally, I would like to swim, however I don't know how well my body would handle that. Keeping a healthy diet would help prevent issues
-Physical (cardiovascular), Social (talk with friends/partner), Mental (perhaps listen to music and relax) benefits
  • Period: to

    Yoga

    -From Ages 65 through 85
    -Recreational level
-By myself and perhaps with a group of friends in a class
-Fatigue and my joints might be issues. However, again I feel yoga actually helps this issues. Also, yoga isn't the most taxing of sports.
    -Physical, Social, Emotional, Mental benefits
