    Brainstorm Ideas
    During this lesson, we plan to sit down and discuss potential ideas for our documentary.Using a pen and paper we came up with a few ideas based on previous media students productions that we had previously watched in lessons. Some of the ideas included:
    - Eating disorders
    -Homophobia
    -Social Networking
    -Smoking
    -Drugs and Alcohol
    -The Finincial Difficulties for Students
  • Narrowed Ideas

    Narrowed Ideas
    During this lesson, we we will sit down and weigh the pro's and con's of each topic. By the end of the lesson we narrowed our ideas down to the following three:
    - Eating disorders
    -Homophobia
    - Social Networking
  • Final Idea: Social Networking

    Final Idea: Social Networking
    By the end of the day we decided on the topic that we wanted to pursue. We then began to research using the web and watching previous documentaries based on social networking

    ON Friday, we will begin to research the appropriate channels that our documentary would be aired on. this includes stations such as channel two and channel four. We will also begin to research the statistical side to social netwroking, this includes facts and figures.

    on Monday, we have planned to take further research into soicla netwroking, thus uploading it onto my blogger in chronological order.

    During this lesson, we are planning a general idea for everything to do with filming which will take place next week. We will be deciding elements such as who to film, where to film and the questions that will be asked during the interviews. If we have spare time we will take a look at less significant elements such as potential music that we will use.

    During the second lesson we plan to draft a few possible scripts. This will include:
    -what will be said during voiceovers
    -questions for interviews
    -the facts and figures from our research.

    During thefirst lesson we will have a more specific idea of our filming plans. we will use this lesson to go and have a look at possible settings and talk to possible candidates who will take part in the documentary ( this will also include experts)

  • Filming Begins

    Filming Begins
    For the next three weeks we will be filming for our documentary. this will include shots, interviews and voxpops. Most of the filming will take place in college and around Solihull.

    By the end of the third week, we should have all the necessary footage needed for the documentary.
  • Logging and Storyboarding

    We will begin to plan our documentary which includes deleting any unecesary footage. We will then formi a storyboard to guide us while editing our documentary.

    By then, we should already have a set idea of how our documentary will take place, by having every several seconds planned.
  • Editing Begins

    Starting the 25th we must begin editing our documentary using 'Final cut pro' on the Mac computers for the footage aswell as 'garage band' for the music. this will roughly take about four weeks
  • Documentary Completed

    During the first week of January, our documentary must be completed and ready to be submitted.
