The terrorist group, Al Queda, crashed 3 planes into the Pentagon and World Trade Center. This deadly attack killed 2,819 and injured over 6,000. After these attacks, Americans' questioned their security and the nation went into a state of emergency. These attacks caused the US to go to war in Afghanistan.

War in Afghanistan
After the attacks of 9/11, President Bush targeted Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.On this date, the US and Great Britain launched airstrikes and aided anti-Taliban rebels. The US refrained from hitting Taliban outside of Kabul because of political situations and the air forces were not completely successful. This war was fought against terrorist and officially ended on December 14, 2014.

Birth of my sister
On a Monday my little sister, Ainsley, was born. She is 18 months younger than me. She is third of four and was born in Abington Hospital. -
Iraq War
The United States initiated war on Iraq. Hostilities started about 90 minutes after the United States announced the deadline for Saddam Hussein to leave Iraq or face war passed. Iraqi forces were quickly overwhelmed by the U.S. forces. The invasion led to the collapse of the Baathist government. The US won the war and are attempting to rebuild Iraq's government.

Roper v Simmons
At age 17, Simmons planned and committed a capital murder. After he had turned 18, he was sentenced to death. Simmons appealed this decision. His defense was that it is unconstitional to sentence a juvenile (at the time the crime was committed) to death. The supreme court agreed and it is now illegal to sentence a person under 18 when the crime was committed to death.

Birth of my brother
On a Wednesday, my little brother Sean was born. He is about 4 years younger than me and I was very excited to have a brother. He is the fourth of four and was born at Abington Hospital. -
Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina, a category three hurricane, slammed into the Gulf of Mexico on August 29, 2005. Katrina destroyed the city New Orleans and damaged other parts of Florida and Louisiana. Hundreds were killed and billions of dollars in damages were caused. The national government was so slow in response that people were and still are homeless because of this storm.

Gonzales v Oregon
The Supreme Court ruled that the Controlled Substances Act does not give the U.S. attorney general the power to stop doctors in Oregon from prescribing lethal drugs to terminally ill patients who want to end their own lives. Oregon is currently the only state that has an assisted-suicide law. The case Gonzales v. Oregon did not completely stop the federal regulation of assisted-suicide.

My first soccer game
On a Saturday, I had my first soccer game. I always wanted to play soccer because I would go to my older sister's games. I loved it so much, epically goalie. My nickname was "The Wall". I still play soccer as an outside midfielder. Soccer is my favorite sport and it pushes me to work hard everyday. -
Obama gets Elected
Barack Obama is the forty-fourth president and the first African American to hold office. He is a democrat and defeated Hillary Clinton and John McCain in the race for office. Obama's plan included ending the war in Iraq and extending affordable health care to all Americans.

On a Saturday, I had my first swim meet. I had been practicing a lot and was both excited and nervous. I have been swimming since and enjoy it. Swimming has helped me with not only my physical heath but mental. When I want to quit I keep pushing so I can get faster. -
My first wedding
On a Saturday, my aunt Joyce and uncle Matt got married. This was the first wedding I had ever been to and it was also the first wedding I was in. This day is very influential because I they both have taught me a lot. -

Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill
On April 20, 2010 a final cement seal on a oil well failed sending 4.2 million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico. This has been called the worst environmental diaster in US government history. BP was the company that was responsible for this spill. The environment in the gulf was destroyed and is still repairing.

Osama bin Laden, leader of the terrorist group Al Qaeda, was killed by the US special forces. Bin Laden was wanted for the planning of the most devastating terrorist attack in the nations history, 9/11. The murder of bin Laden was a victory for the US and its citizens.

My first trip to the ER
On a Tuesday night, I had a soccer game and was playing goalie. I dove to make a save and I got kicked in the ear. My ear had detached and I was rushed to the ER. I got 8 stiches. This was influential because now I am more careful so I do not have to go back to the ER. -
Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy impacts most of the East Coast and leads to record flooding along the Jersey Shore. It was named the second costliest hurricane behind Hurricane Katrina. This Hurricane helped to show the public that the government improved in how it was able to handle a disasters like this.

Sandy Hook Shooting
Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people in Sandy Hook Elementary School. Lanza shot his way into the school and gunned down kindergarden and first grade classrooms filled with innocent young children and teachers. After killing and injuring many others, Lanza took his own life. Now all over the nation, schools security is increased.

Birth of my cousin
On a Saturday, my first younger cousin was born. His name is Everett and lives in Connecticut. Ever since I first meet him we were so close. He has been influential on my life because he can always make me smile and has helped me become more responsible. -
Boston Bombing
During the running of the Boston Marathon, two brothers, Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsaraev, detonated two bombs hidden in backpacks. Three people were killed and nearly 300 were injured. The race immediately stopped and medics helped the injured and the FBI started investigating. A city wide manhunt began, Tamerlan was shot by police and Dzhokhar was captured. New rules have been put into place at many races and the security at all events has been greatly increased.

Legalization of Gay Marriage
The supreme court ruled that same-sex couples could legally get married in all fifty states. Before this ruling it was on legal in 37 states. This ruling was a victory for both gay rights and America. Now the public support of gay marriage is growing and everyone can legally marry anyone they want.

I met my bestfriends
At the third dive meet of the season, I met my two best friends. Their names are Sam and Celia. We had been teammates and classmates in the past but we were never friends. They have changed my life and are always there when I need them. -
Orlando Shooting
Omar Mateen killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in a terrorist attack inside Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. He was shot and killed by Police. Most of the victims were Latino. It was the deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter and the deadliest terrorist attack in the U.S. since 9/11. Mateen swore allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and said the shooting was caused by the U.S. killing of Abu Waheeb in Iraq.

My First Holy Communion
