Japanese invasion of China
The Japanese claimed they were shot at by the Chinese at the Marco Polo Bridge near Beijing on 7 July. Using this excuse, the Japanese launched a full scale attack against China. China put up little resistance to the attack. In November of 1937, China’s most important port, Shanghai, was commandeered by the Japanese. Shortly after, China’s capital was overtaken as well. Because of this invasion, China was mostly commanded by the Japanese. (Note: No specific end date for this event could be loca
