I was born on October 28th at 11:50 pm!
-
My earliest memories are around my third birthday. I had a massive haunted house themed cake!
-
When hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, I was living in Biloxi, MS. The storm flooded my house and destroyed our family's belongings, as we moved them to the basement for safe keeping but the storm surge got in.
-
For about a year and a half after Katrina hit, my family moved to Oxford, MS. We lived in my grandparents apartment, so it was crowded. To top it all off, my mother was pregnant and my father was still on the coast because his job required him to be.
-
After most of the storm surge receded, my family moved back down to the coast. We hadn't finished rebuilding our house yet, so we had to stay in a tiny apartment in a not great part of town. It was sometimes miserable, but we made the best of it.
-
After I went to school for a bit, my family decided that the coast wasn't the place it used to be. We were moving back to Oxford. We would live there until my sophomore year of high school.
-
The beginning of high school. This is when my interests and hobbies expanded and my world opened up a bit. Met a ton of friends and overall truly enjoyed myself.
-
My peak of high school. Perfect grades, great friends, had a ton of fun and enjoyed sports. An overall fantastic year.
-
Summer after my sophomore year I moved to Greensboro, North Carolina. My dad took a job there and we set off almost as soon as the school year ended. It wasn't easy, I had never even heard of the place before spring break and now I was moving away from all my friends.
-
Junior Year was not a great one. Didn't have many friends, it was easily my hardest academic year ever, and I was stressed from all the testing I was doing. I took the ACT just about 8 times and the SAT 3 times. It was hard on me.
-
After the wonder of a year that was junior year (sarcasm), I went on the most influential experience of my life. Seemingly on a whim, I decided to concede to my parents wishes and travel to Colorado for a month for volunteer work. I essentially was a summer camp counselor, except the camp was amazing and in the mountains. It was the most amazing experience of my life and let me open up again. I wouldn't be who I am today without this experience.
-
After work crew, I was ready to start again. Now, this wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, but I let go of all my anger over moving and decided to chill. I made some friends, and even got a girlfriend. I got a job and decided to save for college. Life got much better and I was happy again.
-
After much thought and procrastination of the subject on my part, I finally chose VT over App State for my college decision. I was so excited and couldn't wait for it.
-
I finally made it! Mom and Dad ate lunch with me and then wished me luck. I moved into my dorm room and started classes soon after. It was a very exciting time.
-
Classes started, a week or two passed, and I'm finally getting used to this college thing. Hopefully it keeps going well, I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm even exploring the different dining options!
-
Super exciting time: my first ever VT game! Go Hokies!
-
While I've had a lot of fun at college, I needed to visit home. It was great to see everybody, and I had lots of fun messing around with my siblings.
-
I love Fall! My favorite season had arrived, and I was enjoying every second of it!
-
Yummy food and a week off? Please and Thank You. Always great to spend time with my family, and I loved every minute of it.
-
It's almost the end of the semester, and finally the first snow has arrived. It didn't stick, but man was it an awesome time with it snowing almost the entire day!
-
In 5 years from now, I want to be set in a career that'll be something I enjoy doing as well as something that keeps a family supported.
-
I think that I would like to have an apartment, living with a significant other in 5 years. I wouldn't mind having a dog or another pet to take care of. I also think at this point I should be searching for a house to buy, and hopefully it is a smart investment. The image is actually from an article about someone buying a house at 24, so I feel this is a reasonable thing to do.
-
For me, I think 5 years down the line will be a great time of my life. I will be working, which while I struggle with school work I seem to really enjoy other types of work. A full time job would be very nice start in my career. I also think that I'll not only on my own, I will be starting to pay off my student debts, which I'm sure will be so much fun.
