Yes I believe that future employers and colleges have the right to look at my social media because this representswho I am and who I portray myself to be. If it is not up to par with where they are, then I believe that someone should not be hired, including myself. And until I make changes to that I do not believe that I should be hired, for that would look bad on me and the company.

For myself I am very careful of what I put online. I know not to put anything provocative or inappropriate. I am in Davidson cheerleader and I would be in serious trouble if I put something bad on my account. I would be kicked off the team. So I would say that I would not hurry to my computer. I might check it to see if there be anything sketchy, but I have nothing bad.

I believe that because he was a youth helper and he put this on his Facebook page, the colleges would enjoy seeing that he helps in the community. This would make them actually like his Facebook page as he would say. You can create a positive digital footprint for yourself by portraying the good things that you do in your community and the good side of your life. Try not to show anything provocative or inappropriate, this could ruining your reputation.

My answer to this would be no. This is because many people do not show online how they really act in person. Myself included I did not portray my entire life on my Instagram or Twitter. Some people do and I kind of see how they can be overdramatic sometimes and maybe some people have a false representation of who they really are. But in most cases that’s who they feel they can be, but not who they actually are. Internet users need to have an etiquette basics lesson, this would solve the problem.
