Spanish -Language News All Day, Every Day!
I grew up watching Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas. Noticias Univision was the most watched news-cast for Hispanics and continues to be. Every day as my family and I would sit around the television to hear the news of the day, I began to see the importance and relevance of the news for my family and knew I wanted a career in Spanish-language news at an early age! These two anchors continue to inspire me for their coverage of important Hispanic issues and dedication to the community
  • Immigration Reform

    Immigration Reform
I want to help build an informed community so they can make educated political decisions when voting. Immigration reform continues to be a very critical topic for Hispanics here in the U.S. and I want to cover topics like these so we can grow as a strong, informed community. The Immigration Rights Movement in 2007 was a very impactful day. I realized the power an informed, united community can have.

I'd like to Thank the HMC Upward Bound Program!
I joined Upward Bound, a college prep program, to have something to do in the summer but it came to be one of the best decisions of my life! As we traveled the country, interned and studied hard together, I got the help I needed to get to into USC and the endless support and motivation to pursue broadcast journalism because as peers, we pushed ourselves to pursue our dream careers.

    I joined the Link!
I interned for Hispanic Link News in Washington D.C while I was with my Upward Bound family staying at Georgetown University. Charlie was the best mentor a lost, indecisive intern could have. I learned that the best way to learn was to become a great writer was to simply begin writing. I was always kept busy writing and pushed to my limits every minute of the day! Charlie was also so dedicated to the Hispanic community that he inspired me to do the same.
