    madison didnt want war, many merchants in new england wanted trade with britian. war hawks had strong sense in alism. they fellt the british thought that the USA was still theirs. they were willing to defend the USA

    british started to board americans ships, when the war was over it was officaly called "the war of 1812". they knew the war wasnt gonna be easy. the house voted 79 to n49 in favor of war. they wanted to win additional land for the USA.
