  • African Trade

    European trade with Africa is well establshed with Africans because of Africans collecting and providing the material themselves and quicker trade with the steam engines.
  • Sepoy Rebellion

    Sepoy mutiny occurs causing many Indian and British people to get slaughtered, and British govt. takes over and stops the rebellion w/ its military. The British East India co. falls and the British govt. takes over with direct control, starting raj.
  • Suez Canal

    Funded by the French, the Egyptions build a canal linking the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, opening up quicker trade.
  • Berlin Conference

    1884-85. Delegates from fourteen different European countries divide up Africa without paying attention to the borders of ethnic groups, and no African leaders were not invited to attend the meeting.
  • Queen Liliuokalani

    Queen Liliuokalani takes the throne and is Hawaii's last monarch and resisted the taking over of American plantation owners.
  • Ethiopia

    Ethiopians defeat Italians at battle of Adwa under rule of Menelik II, with modern weapons, and kept their independence and remained independent.
  • Spanish American War

    The Americans win the war against the Spanish and get control of the Phillipines, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
  • Boer War

    The Boer War begins between the British and Boers(dutch) and is the first "total" war, and Brits win
  • Africa under control

    Africa is divided and controlled by European countries and Ethiopia and LIberia are the only countries not controlled by Europe or outsiders.
