  • Montesqiue publishes On The Spirit Of Laws

    Montesqiue's book On The Spirit Of Laws was the first time the "checks and balances" system had been discussed, and is the priciple for our Federal Government today.
  • America Declares Independance

    America declaed its independance from the British Empire on July Fourth, 1776. This marked the official beggining of the American Revolution
  • French Revolution

    The French Revolution, inspired by the American Revolution, began in 1789, and marked the end of Monarchy in France
  • Napoleon's Coup De Etat

    Napoleon's coup de etat overthrows the Directory, and places him as the principle of the three consuls of France
  • Napoleon Crowned Emperor

    Napoleon crowns himself Emperor of France, and begins his conquest of Europe. This campaign would expand the French Empire and its puppet states to control almost all of Europe
  • Haiti Wins Freeodm

    In the only succesful slave revolution, the slaves and African descended colonists of Haiti succesfully beat back the Spanish, British, and French, and establish the country of Haiti. This rebellion was headed by former slave, Toussaint Louverture, who died in a French Prison
  • Hidalgo Cries For Mexican Independance

    Padre Hidalgo of the central Mexican town of Dolores cries for Mexican independance and marches his mob of angry peasants towards Mexico City, but along the way he is captured and executed by the Spanish
  • Napoleon defeated at Waterloo

    After being attacked while waiting to Ambush the Duke of Wellington's army, Napoleon is defeated and his entire army wiped out, ending his second bid for power, and he is banished to St. Helena, where he will die of unknown causes
