    Split of Christianity

    A church patriarch in Constantinople attacked the Roman Catholic religion and that started the split. This is a change over time event because it changed religion even up to this day.

    Decline

    Byzantine begins to decline due to growing attack by the Ottomans. This is a change over time event because the repeated attacks begin to drain the Byzantine Empire of its resources.

    University of Paris

    The University of Paris is founded. This is a continuity event because this does not effect the Byzantine Empire that much.

    End of Byzantine Empire

    The Seljuk Turks capture Constantinople. This is a change over time event because it symbolizes the fall of an empire, thus the end of an era.
  • Arab attack

    Arab attack on Constantinople defeated. This shows change because it affected the empire's population and its defenses.
  • Cyril and Methodius

    Cyril and Methodius began their missionary work in Russia. This is a change over time event because they spreaded Orthodox Christianity.
  • Charlemagne's Empire

    This empire was just a small empire near modern day France. This is a continuity event since it did not affect the Byzantine Empire for that long.
