    boat ride
I didn’t really mind the boat ride I guess. It was a lot better than the walk we had to take. Boy did my feet hurt. I was on the boat for one week and a couple days. Living on the boat was very cramped but, we always had fun. Most of the time we would clear out a space and have shows of people dancing it was so fun.

    arriving
I arrived at Ellis island on November 1st, 1908.I remember because it was my 30th birthday. Right when I got off the boat I felt a whole bunch of emotions rush to my mind, excitement because I'm starting a new beginning, but also nervous because what if it doesn't work out. Than I realized how hot it was. I realized that everyone was coming off as a family but, me I was own my own.
  • Triangle shirtwaist factory

    Triangle shirtwaist factory
I started working at the triangle shirt waste factory. Its really nice here I get paid a good amount. There's a lot of people who work here all are females. We all get along great and I made a really close friend. My boss is nice but sometimes he gets a little picky about how the clothing looks when its done. I wish he would put in air conditioning its hotter than a pistol in here.

    triangle shirtwaist factory fire
One of the days I was working in here people where rushing I'm not really sure why though. Some of the girls starting screaming and running towards the door I didn’t really know why though. The only thing I noticed was that it was getting hotter and hotter in here until I turned around. Flames were every where starting at the trash can I ran to the door but it wasn’t open I panicked and thought I was going to die until I saw people running in the elevator saying it was the last trip up I sprinte
  • my own land

    my own land
I didn’t know what I was suppose to do because the triangle shirtwaist factory burnt down. I didn’t have a job anymore. I remembered in Ireland that I always wanted to own land but it was way to expensive. The land in America a lot cheaper. With all the money I saved from the factory I was able to but land, a cow, farm supply's, and seeds for my garden. Life was good and was working out a lot better than I imagined.
