    Failure- Hating preschool

When I was 4 I went to preschool in Pawling. This was a big moment for me as I had to grow up and start school. I made new friends in Pawling and learned a lot in preschool and I feel that that was a big part in my younger life. Going to preschool taught me how to be respectful and responsible and take care of responsibilities such as homework and other things that I needed to do. I consider this failure because I constantly wanted to go home and I hated it when I was there.
  • Struggle/difficulty

    Struggle/difficulty

One big struggle and difficulty that I faced as a kid was breaking my arm due to my sister pushing me off the couch. This event was difficult as after I broke my arm I had to learn how to do things with my left arm instead of my dominant arm. I had to learn how to write, draw, and other things with my other arm that was a struggle. This taught me how to be patient and work around difficulties and cope with certain things that try to stop you.
  • Success- Getting my dog

    Success- Getting my dog

On my birthday (May 31st) in 2013, my nani got me a dog from Columbia named Lucas. My whole family instantly fell in love with the dog and we were all obsessed with him. This event was important to me as it brought something new into my life and something that my whole family has wanted for a while. Lucas taught me many things, but most importantly he taught me how to make connections with something other than a person and that is why I consider this a big success.
  • Surprising- When I learned how to backflip into a pool

Surprising- When I learned how to backflip into a pool

This is a bit different but yet was important to me and I thought that this moment was surprising. When I was 10 I went to my moms friends pool and my dad taught me how to do a backflip into the pool. Although this doesn’t seem interesting, it was important to me because it taught me how to man up and just do something, even if you don’t want to do it. I've applied that same lesson to different things in my life such as school and sports so I think this is surprising and important to my growth.
  • Failure- losing a fish

    Failure- losing a fish

One of my failures was losing one of the biggest fish that I ever hooked off of the coast of Fire Island. During the summer of 2016, I went to Fire Island with my family and went fishing for one of the nights. While fishing, I felt a bite and before I knew it, I had a huge fish on my line. I tugged and pulled and tried my hardest to reel it in. As I felt the fish pulling away from my pole the line suddenly snapped and I lost the fish. I was really upset and felt like failure.
  • Failure- Breaking my thumb

    Failure- Breaking my thumb

One event that made me feel like a failure was when I broke my thumb. This happened playing lacrosse in the fall of 2016 when someone hit my thumb with their stick and broke the growth plate in my thumb. I was upset as this was the beginning of my lacrosse season so I would miss the rest of my season. This event taught me patience. I felt defeated and upset that I could not play that year in lacrosse or do the things I normally could. The picture includes me in a cast I had to wear.
  • Fear-Catching my first sand shark

    Fear-Catching my first sand shark

This was the very first time I caught a shark, and when I pulled it out of the water I expected a big porgy fish, but instead I was surprised to see a sand shark. I was super scared thinking that this shark was going to take off one of my fingers while I tried to take the hook out, but then found out that they have no teeth. After I took the hook out, I wanted to take a picture with the shark so I faced my fears and put my finger in the shark's mouth for a picture.

The hike around the Canyon was amazing and the history of the Canyon and tour was interesting to me and that is why this event is considered as a big success to me and an interesting event in my life. Not only was the Grand Canyon amazing, but the friends and family that were with me made the trip unforgettable.

Funny event-Buying kids size shoes by accident

In the summer of 2018, I decided I wanted to buy some vans shoes. When I was shopping online, I saw a pair of the shoes that I wanted for $30 on ebay size 10. When the shoes finally came, I was surprised to open up a pair of kids shoes in the box. My family all saw and laughed and it became an inside joke between my friends and my family. This event caused me to now always read the fine print and make sure that whatever product I buy is the way that I want it.
  • Success - Getting pulled up onto varsity

Success - Getting pulled up onto varsity

In the middle of my sophomore year, my coach tells me that the varsity coach for lacrosse wants me to go up and play for them. This was a big success for me as I worked hard all year long to be the best that I can be and worked hard everyday. The decision was easy for me as I went up and decided to play with a challenge and to put effort in to help myself get better. This event motivated me and helped me build character and that is why I consider it a big success in my life.
