My Life

  • Seperation

    Seperation

When I was 6 years old, my parents came to the decision of getting a divorce. At a young age you don't really realize or notice these kind of things, and I definitely didn't know that I was gonna lose the bond I had with my brother, he was 8 at the time. From the point on, everything was just very different. However, I'm actually glad they got divorced, because as I got older I saw how much stress and negative energy my dad gave to my mom and I'm glad she didn't have to deal with that no longer.
  • On Our Own

    On Our Own

After my parents got divorced, my dad technically kicked my mom and I out of the house with no money nor a place to live. We actually had to stay over her closest friend's house for a couple days until we got our footing. We eventually moved into a one bedroom cabin house, and we were lucky enough to live only next to a family, who's daughter was my best friend. From that day forward, it's been just my mom and I by ourselves against everything, and me not having a connection with my dad, ever.
  • Welcome to Brewster

    Welcome to Brewster

After a couple of years of moving around a bit, my mom decided she wanted to buy a house with a new school district just a town over, Brewster. By the time this happened, I was going into 4th grade at CVStarr Elementary school from Matthew Patterson Elementary. I was really excited to have my own room but also very nervous meeting new people. Most of the people that I met I don't communicate with anymore which is fine by me because I found my people in middle school,
  • Goodbyes Aren't Fun

    Goodbyes Aren't Fun

A week after Hurricane Sandy, our house didn't have any power and it was very cold, until we got power a couple days after. We didn't think it would affect anything, but it did, along with other issues, my very first dog Puffer, passed away in the car while we taking him to a vet. He was the best gift I've ever gotten on my birthday. He was like my little pup in shining armor. So in that exact moment when I lost him, I shut down and everyone out, and have never been the same.
  • I Diagnose You With...

    I Diagnose You With...

When I was 11 years, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. This type of disease cause extreme amounts of stomach pain with blisters almost all over your intestines, like it's burning. It's not fun, but it actually increased my pain tolerance, which is good for when I do get flares. During that time I was take about 12 pills a day, now I take 8, but they include steroids to really stimulate the pain since it only gets worse. I've been going on 6 years with this diagnoses and its been a ride.
  • Finally Some Custody

    Finally Some Custody

Starting my freshmen year of high school, my brother decided to move in with my mom and I to finally get out of the claws of my dad. My mom was completely determined into getting full custody of my brother and I once he begged her to, and I agreed. After a ton of time in court and money spent later, we were excited enough to say that my mom was granted full custody, the day that was announced was probably the happiest day of our lives. Especially to me since my mom was two parents in one for me.
  • Sunshine State

    Sunshine State

My brother got into a tough crowd while being here in NY, so my mom thought it was best to send him to California to stay with her family and straighten him up. Which ended up with us packing up and moving there with him by the end of my freshmen year. I didn't have anyway in the matter really so I just went with the flow. The best part was that the whole side of my mom's family was there and instead of visiting them every summer, I got to see them almost everyday.
  • Wow You Look...

    Wow You Look...

In my new school, there was an option to swim everyday in place for gym class, and I for sure took that opportunity. Every single day for a whole year, I increased my swimming skills, learned new strokes, swam 30 laps a day in record time, and even 66 laps(a mile)! Little did I know that all that hard work would be put into losing over 50 pounds. I never noticed how much weight I lost until everyone around kept telling me of how amazing I looked, and when I finally realized, I was beyond proud.
  • Where's My Teeth?

    Where's My Teeth?

For swim, me and a group of my friends had to come up with synchronizing swim routine. So of course, my group has decided to use color guard flags for the beginning of our routine before we end up in the pool. One day while practicing, I toss my flag in the air only to miss it because of the sun hitting my eyes, and had the end of the pole hitting my mouth. I felt as though my brackets for my braces came off but nope...It was half of two teeth. I was lucky enough to have them glued back on..yay.
  • Time To Go Back...

    Time To Go Back...

Everything in California was absolutely amazing, of course I missed my best friend and close friends, but I was content of staying there. If only it wasn't for the education system, I would be in California right now. My new schools education system was beyond terrible, it was so different to where they held me back in certain classes because my transcript wasn't "detailed." At that moment I begged my mom to move to a different school system, which ended up being right where I started, Brewster.
  • You Wanna See Some Real Speed...

You Wanna See Some Real Speed...

Once I got my license in California I had to transfer it over to a New York State one. The only thing missing was that I didn't have a car. My mom knew some of the responsibilities that I had to take care of and it all involved a car, like going to work, food shopping for her, etc. Which is why she decided to buy my baby boy, Turbo. He is a silver, 2002 Toyota Camry, who I absolutely love to death. Even if he isn't my dream car, the day I got him was the best day and I'm very grateful for him!
