    Early Childhood - Physical
I grew up being healthy in my weight and height. My family would feed me regularly. They made sure to give me plenty of options and my favorite food growing up was fruit, especially peaches. I was limited to candy and sweets unless it was a special occasion. I used my visual pathways to draw pictures for my parents during my preschool years. They would praise my efforts and my mother has kept my drawings to this day. Photo Credit: https://images.app.goo.gl/WzQ1bAbXRzZ3KxTZ6

As a child, I would like to pretend all the time. Especially because at this age, I had a new little brother. Our favorite game was "Hospital". I would be the doctor and preform check-ups on each member of my family. I would also have my toys talk and play with each other. By age four, I had great speech skills although I did not understand the literal meaning of all things. Photo Credit: https://images.app.goo.gl/wuybULY5janmFYFY8

Luckily, my parents had a great parenting style. They allowed me to learn through positive reinforcement and praised me for my initiative. They never forced certain behaviors on on me simply because I was a girl. My mother was my preschool teacher so I had many boy and girl friends. We would play equal roles in every activity and I appreciate that. Photo Credit: https://images.app.goo.gl/ME6iDAX6He4H7rjLA

As a younger child, I had my equal share of tantrums and stress. My mother would be very patient with me and had an athletic coach parenting style. Photo Credit: https://images.app.goo.gl/ba5eDSC8ecgtxNXNA

A milestone for me when I was six years old was that my parents put my on a small t-ball team with some of my friends from school. I was able to develop my gross motor skills such as hitting a ball, catching, throwing, and running. I would say I was better batting than catching the ball. I was a little afraid of it. I loved this sport and the relationships I formed with my team mates. Photo Credit: https://images.app.goo.gl/2fcrsne6MJSyEhMU8

When I was a teenager, I noticed that I did have a growth spurt. I remember having to buy bigger shoes and new clothes. That included bras! I remember always wanting one only because it made me seem older. With my hormones raging, I was 13 when I first got my period. This was also when I experienced acne for the first time. My friends and I would go out on dates with boys, or high school football games, or I would practice with my best friends on my softball team. I would be on my phone constantly when at home that my parents would have to take it away when I ignored them. Social life was everything! Photo Source: https://images.app.goo.gl/E7frxMG97PSo9vny6
  • Adolescence - Emotional

    Adolescence - Emotional
I am not sure if it was the hormones or the stress of school and friends but I had a roller coaster of emotions at this age. I constantly tried to keep it together and be positive. Moodiness often accompanied my search for identity. As I was drawing closer to graduating high school, I became excited and overwhelmed with the thought of my future college endeavors. I had mixed feelings about leaving home and my dear family. Photo Credit: https://images.app.goo.gl/5FS79F7fRso1oDEw7
