  • Lemonade Stands and Home Bon Buffet

Lemonade Stands and Home Bon Buffet
Our Block consisted of 12 girls and 1 boy. We were all in a similar age group, 97's through 02's. We had many achievements as a group, but this is one of the memorable ones. In the summers, we would have Lemonade stands at the bottom of our road, and cars would whizz by or slow down for some lemonade (and sometimes cookies too! and we managed to collect exactly $101 from our hard work. So we collectively decided to go to home bon buffet, and at the end of the dinner, our total was about $101.87
  • Block Dance Recital

    Block Dance Recital
Another great achievement of the girls from our block was the dance recital we choreographed and performed in. (We also all went to dance school together) All of us each had our own song with our own choreography, and we had two/three group dances and our last one was "California Girls" by Katy Perry.
  • My Niece Was Born

    My Niece Was Born
On October 24th, 2010, my life was forever changed, and my sister gave birth to her girl, Genesis Marie Gonzales. Genesis is such a big part of my life and she is someone who pushes me to do great for her so she has good role models and a Titi (Tia) to look up to. I wanted to hold her and feed her since she was born, and I get to take care of her and teach her how to do things, like how to scooter, what a Nintendo is, or show her the original Teen Titans Go, or Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
  • Once Upon A Mattress

    Once Upon A Mattress
My best friend at the time, Katie, persuaded me to try out for a play being held at St. Lawrence O'Tool, and I said "hey, why not???" I almost landed the lead role, but lost it to Cece Guida, although, she was much more suited for the role, but still, I made new friends, and a few enemies, but I had so many laughs, great advice, and came out to my mom, which is a memory I'll always remember. I still cherish the last happy moments with my friend Katie, because we started fighting soon after that
  • First Catch

    First Catch
The company my dad works for invites us on an annual fishing trip, and in 2015 we went for our first time. On the boat, there is a pool for who can snag the biggest catch. The prize was about $200 and I was determined to try and win. I caught this decent sized fish, and I would've won that prize, but I was disqualified because although I had one of the bigger fishes caught, but it was a bony fish and we couldn't eat it. I was kind of sad about it, but I started to learn how to fish, and had fun.
  • Struggling with my Sexual Identity

    Struggling with my Sexual Identity
In the eighth grade, I was still desperately clinging to straightness, and I was just trying so hard to fit in and be normal because I was too afraid to be different, and I have seen the way people could be tortured by coming out, so no matter what, I wanted to keep my sexuality a secret. This is certainly isn't something I was proud of, however I think that I did this because by having a lot of guy friends, I thought I created a safety net as an "insurance," if you will, for my straightness.
  • Splash at Yale University

    Splash at Yale University
Every Autumn, Yale holds a program where college students volunteer to teach a topic to high school students, and the h.s. students can pick the courses and you go learn for a day. My friend Gracd introduced me to it, and I really love it. I've learned about Gay rights and its history, what a 4d sphere would theoretically look like and much much more. I always enjoyed it because of my love for chemistry, gay rights, physics problems like this and many other things, and I got the chance to learn.
  • Swimming Against The Tide

    Swimming Against The Tide
In the 8th Grade, myself and some friends created a moral based on our summer reading, Counting By Sevens, and presented it not only to all of the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders separately, and we also presented it to the Board of Education, and were recognized by the Board of Ed for creating it. This helped me with group work (because I hate working in groups) and I got to get a little closer with my sister as well, and I was with a group of really good friends of mine. I had so much fun creating it
  • My First Convention

    My First Convention
I went to my first convention in 2016, I was so excited to go. This convention was much smaller than Comic Con or anything but it was such a good experience. I cosplayed as a lgbt character from an anime, and it failed horribly. I looked really bad, especially with the blond hair and clip in pony tails, but even though I looked like a mess, I still had so much fun, made fun of way too many people and got to see some inspiration for my future cosplays. I'm working on a suit of armor for later.
  • My First Job

    My First Job
My first ever job I got towards the end of being 14, in February 2017, and I worked and still work as a gymnastics instructor for recreational and tumbling classes as well as working the front desk, where I do bookwork and payments etc. and I love the second family I have been given by my job. I worked at epic studios until February of 2017, and B&C gymnastics since it's opening in may of 2018, and still work there. This has given me an amazing opportunity to become more independent and diligent
  • Accepting and Embracing my Sexuality

    Accepting and Embracing my Sexuality
It took be around 4 years to come to terms that I was gay, it still is today something I struggle with even through I have accepted myself, I know I have set myself backwards because I was, for so long, trying to please my dad, but I felt I never was able to, and when I came out to him a few weeks ago, I changed my whole world, and I told myself that my happiness was risked when I was hiding from my dad, whether or not I was hiding in plain sight, I still feel like I've let him down yet again.
  • My First Pride

    My First Pride
For the first time ever, I was able to be completely and unapologetically me and I had so much fun, and for once I was so so happy. I went and devised a whole plan with my sister and mom so that my dad would never find out, and so that I could have a good time. Little did I know, I would meet two of my Idols, Ms. Jay Alexander, and Lea DeLaria. I actually saw Ms. Jay again the following year, and I got to see one of my good friends Karen Lennox walking in the parade for the MAC makeup brand.
  • Failing A personal Goal

    Failing A personal Goal
Although my back problem has developed and worsened just over a year now, one of my long term goals was to get a lip on bara for my gymnastics routine. I was utterly disappointed in myself because I really wanted to prove to my coach that I am worth time and that I can be a good leader by being a good athlete. However, I had no way of getting the proper help to learn the skill, and I in turn, let myself fail, and to me, you need hard work and dedication at the minimum, to be a leader of a team.
  • Becoming a Captain of BVG

    Becoming a Captain of BVG
Finally, in my junior year, I have achieved one of my goals of becoming captain for the Varsity Gymnastics Team, and I was so happy that I was recognized for my efforts. Since before I was on the team, I was a score keeper for the team, and I learned how to calculate the scores in the correct way, and create the score cards, doing the place awards, and running the whole scoring area since I was in the sixth grade. I helped lead the team when none of the captains were present and pushing myself.
