I was born
-
I used to watch shows like Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse, and everything Disney.
-
My parents would read the daily newspaper in their bedroom and I would only look at the pictures since I didn't know how to read
-
Just like books and newspapers, I loved looking at the photos in magazines. I remember browsing the Newsweek, Time, and National Geographic magazines and looked at the advertisements featured in them.
-
-
-
My parents bought numerous amounts of children's books which I would go over everyday. I was amused with the pictures on the books and the scent that lingered on it. This inspired my love for reading books at a young age.
-
-
My older cousin first introduced me to her computer in 2005 and taught me how to play MyScene and Disney games. I was ecstatic to see the graphics on the computer since my Dad prevented me from using the computer in our home.
-
My parents usually kept the radio turned off in our car. The first time I actually listened to the radio was when I rode in my grandmother's car when she brought me to another relative's house. It would blare old songs during her time.
-
I remember borrowing my mom's cellphone to play the games in it like Snake. I was frustrated when the snake would miss the apple or immediately escape.
-
-
Though the telephone in our house would ring every night, I was too scared to answer it; thinking some ominous thing might happen. The only time I started to use the phone was when I was around 5-6 years old but only used it to listen to whoever was on the other end of the line.

-
I received a hand-me-down gold Sony Zen MP3 player that played the early 2000's hits like Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Maroon 5. I remember having to manually press the skip button multiple times in order to get to my favorite songs. I also remember having to torrent songs, hoping to not get any viruses on the family computer.
-
My mom would usually lend her Facebook account back then for me to play Farmville and Pet Society. Due to my "gaming addiction", my mom told me to get my own Facebook account.
-
-
For Christmas, I got my first and only Nintendo DS Lite. It came with a Cooking Mama and Super Mario Brothers game cartridge. Which I played day-in, day-out, stylus in hand. I thought I was the coolest kid on the block since I finally got my own personal gadget
-
Youtube exposed me to new singers, vlogs, and everything in pop culture. I remember going on a "Vevo" marathon to watch music videos.
-
I got my first personal cellphone after months of begging my parents to get one. It was a hand-me-down Nokia phone from my Dad that had a digital screen. I used to Bluetooth songs from my cousins so I could listen to some tunes on my way to school and back.
-
Having an iPad back then was considered a rare thing to have. Thus, when I received my first Apple iPad 2 from my dad, I downloaded the most famous games back then like Angry Birds and TapTap Revenge
-
I got my first Twitter account with the handle @Maeganmeow (which was deleted). I remember tweeting almost every hour, thinking my 12 followers would be interested in my whereabouts.
-
Since most of my friends got an Instagram account, I decided to join the hype. From then on, I never left Instagram and became the most used social media site for me
-
-
-
I owned a Tumblr blog back then (now inactive), filled with cats and One Direction memes.
-
After hearing my friends use Spotify, I decided to give it a try.
-
-
Though Netflix is a popular show-streaming site, I decided to use iFlix since it gave me free access for a month without asking for my credit card details.
