    -Americans were angry at Britian for arming Native Americans of the Northwest.
    -Americans wew also about the impressment of American sailors by the British.
    -Most Americans felt the countrys honor was at stake.
    -Relations with Britian were soon going to worsen.

    -American troops invaded Canada under General William Hulll
    -Hull was unsure if he had enough soldiers so he retreated
    -The British took advantage of Hulls confusion
    -British soldiers and Native Americans surrounded and captured Hulls army
    -The invasion of Canada turned out to be a serious defeat for the U.S.

    -A major sea battle was fought in the begining of the war
    -The USS constitution fought agianstthe British sip Guerriere
    -The USS constitution defeated the Guerriere
    -Sailors nicknamed the Constitution Old Ironsides
    -British artilery fire bounced of the ships wooden hull

    -A key 3hour battle took place in put-in-bay
    -American Navy defeated the British Navy
    -America had no ships available before the battle
    -Captian Oliver Hazzard Perry had to build his own ships for the battle

    -Jackson defeated the creeks at Horseshoe Bend
    -They signed a treaty that ended the fighting
    -The treaty also got America millions of acres of land from the Creeks

    -British burned down government buildings
    -White House was also buned down
    -Americans were shocked to find out the army could not defend Washington D.C.

    -The British attacked Baltimore
    -Francis Scott Key watched the attack
    -At dawn he saw the American flag was still flying over the fort,which meant the Americans had won
    -Key wrote a poem called the Star Spangled Banneron the back of an envolope
    -In 1931 it became the National Anthem of the U.S.

    -Some delegates suggested the New England states withdraw from the U.S.
    -While delegates debated, news of the peace treaty arrived
    -Soon after that, the war ended
    -After the war, the Hartford Convention ended

    -Peace talks started in Ghent, Belgium
    -Britian and the U.S. agreed to restore prewar conditions
    -John Adams(American) stated "nothing was ajdusted, nothing was settled
    -It was signed in December 24,1814 to end the war
