    American's Unready For War
    The Americans are the ones who declared war even though we weren't ready for war. The Britttisn weren't ready either because they were fighting Napoleon so they did not have troops to spare. We were not ready, we only had 16 Navy ships, and a very small army that was sick. The way congress solved that they said any man that served would get $124 and 360 acres of land.

    Captain Oliver Hazardwas a loner thinking he could fight off some Brittish ships. He had no men and made his own boat. The Brittish destroyed his boat, so he left it and went to the other amarican boat and help them to win.

    The camander of Horseshoe bend was Andrew Jackson from Tennessee. It was part of the Creeks War, and was fought between the Creeks Warriors and the Americans. In the end, the Americans won the battle.

    Brittish wanted to attack the new capital (they thought it would make us weak). British burned all important government buildings. The first lady, Dolley Madison, Grabbed the President's important papers and left the White House. After the Brittish blocked the harbors, we didn't let that hurt us, we pulled through.

    Hartford Convention
    Delegates from New England met on December 15th, 1814. Most of them where federalist. They met because they did not like the Republican President and the war. At the convention, the delegates threatened to leave the Union if the war continued.
  • Treaty of Ghent

    Treaty of Ghent
    The Brittish and the Americans meet in Ghen, Belgium to talk about peace. The reason why they met is because the Brittish were tired and wanted to end the war. They all finally signed the treaty on Christmas eve of 1814. This ended the war.

    The Brittish repeatedly attacked the Americans. They lost over 2,000 men but we only lost 7. The thing about this war is that it was after the Treaty Of Ghent.
