The Story Of My LIfe

By ThomasT
  • My Mother and Father Procreate on Dad's Birthday(Biosocial)

I really don't have memory of this event but I did ask my mom when I was concieved she wasn't sure. So, I decided to have a little fun with my parents since I was born a little more then 9 months after New Years Eve I get to say I was a drunken New Years result. Makes me laugh eventhough both my parents denied this, ha!
  • Birth

I was born around 6pm in Hackensack, New Jersey. My mother told me that this day was very hot in the upper 80's. She also told me that my uncle Mark drove her to the hospital because my Father was at work.
  • I rolled Over(Biosocial)

I wish I remember this event because I most likely was really excited or I started crying cause I got myself stuck.
  • I became mobile(crawling)(Biosocial)

I feel bad for my parents because they told me that once I started crawling I was all over the place and they couldn't take their eyes off of me for even a second.
  • I really became mobile (walking) (Biosocial)

This must have been worse for my parents because I was/and still am very active. My mother told me that I walked all over the place and started running as soon as I could keep my balance for long enough to do so.
  • My Brother Matt's Birth (Psychosocial)

I don't actually remember this day at all. But at this point our family had moved from New Jersey to Michigan so my brother was the first Tomasso born in Michigan.
  • Learned How to ride a bike(Biosocial)

I remember being outside with my mom, dad, brother, and sister. I had this orange bike called a Piranna or something like that. I remember begging my dad to take off the training wheels and let me ride my bike like my older brother. He did, and of course I feel and scraped myself up. As a result the training wheels had to go back on per my mom's request.
  • I began playing organized soccer(Biosocial)

I don't remember the first day that I played organized soccer but I know that my sister and I started at the same time. I must admit I am very happy that my mother and father let me play because it really taught me a lot of life lessons through the years.
  • First Day of School(Cognitive)

What I remember about this day is that it was very hot out waiting for the bus. Luckily the bus stop was right in front of our house so that we didn't have to walk too far. There were a lot of kids in my neighborhood around my age so the bus stop was filled with kids and parents.
  • First Girlfriend(Psychosocial)

My first girlfiend was a girl from across the street. She was in fifth grade and I was in third grade. I was friends with her younger brother Curtis. They moved away a few years later.
  • Received American Dream Award(Psychosocial)

I was in fifth grade when I received this award. We were at the school assembly and they were announcing the award recipients. I had no idea that I was getting it and my mother got me a card that had 20 dollars in it and I was so excited.
  • Middle School(Cognitive)

I went to East Middle School in Plymouth, MI. I remember riding the bus and sitting in the back with the older kids because I had an older sister two years older then me. I thought I was so cool.
  • Started High School (Cognitive)

This day was similar to the start of middle school since I had an older sister that was a junior at the time and my older brolther had just graduated from HS the summer before. I knew a lot of the other kids because of my older siblings so the transition was easier for me because of that and also playing HS soccer. I was on the JV team as the starting goalie.
  • First Job(Psychosocial)

My first job was as a bagger at the Plymouth Market Place. My best friend also got a job there and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately I was let go after a few months because I could not work enough for their liking due to the fact I was always out of town for soccer tournaments.
  • Driver's License(Psychosocial)

Since I was a late birthday for what grade I was in I got my license later then all my friends. That mixed in with soccer, it made it hard for me to be able to take the drivers ed classes. The cool thing about this was that my parents were out of town in Hawaii celebrating their wedding anniversary so my older brother took me for my driver's road test and also to get my license at the Secretary of State. We used my mother's car, a Z-26 Berreta, which we nicknamed the White Wombat.
  • High School Graduation(Cognitive)

We had our graduation ceremony at Eastern Michigan. It was a very hot day. I also had my graduation party that day since it was the only day I could because of my soccer schedule for the summer. It worked out perfectly because no one else had a party that day so all of my friends and their parents were able to attend. Plus we had the senior party that night and all the parents were able to hang out before working the party.
  • Started College(Cognitive)

I was fortuante to get a college scholarship to play soccer at Southern Methodist University. We had to report for preseason a few weeks earlier then all the other students. I flew down to Texas by myself with like 4 huge bags of clothes. When I got dropped off on campus I got lucky and ran into one of my other teammates for the first time and he helped my carry my bags to my dorm room.
  • My last college soccer game

Biosocial, Cognitive, and Psychosocial. This was a closing to a time in my life that I never wanted to end, or at least not in the game it ended. The group of team mates that I had would never be together in that capacity again and I rarely see or talk to any of them to this day. That's a huge bummer to me.
  • Signed contract as Professional Soccer Player(Biosocial)

This was a great day for me. I didn't get drafted so I tried out for a few teams and didn't make them so it was a huge emotional roller coaster up until this point. I got a week long tryout with the New England Revolution and at the end they offered me a contract. One of the happiest days of my life.
  • Retired from Professional Soccer(Biosocial)

For a few different reasons I chose to retire from professional soccer. The first one being that I didn't like that it was a business and that people no longer played for the love of the game. I also wanted to be home by my family in Michigan and I hated missing all the family events. The best decision I ever made because it gave me five great years with my father before he passed away.
  • First Neice Eliana's Birth (Biosocial)

I remember being so excited about this day. My sister and her husband didn't tell us they were at the hospital so when I got the call I was super surprised. It was so cool seeing Eliana for the first time and becoming an uncle.
  • My Father passes away(Psychosocial)

    RIP Papa Georgio!!!
  • My father passed away

I was at work with my little brother Matt. I got a call from my mom on my cell and it was very unusual for her to call me at work so I answered the phone. She said, "you might want to sit down for this" and then said "daddy's gone." I will never forget that or those words. I looked and my brother and told him that our dad died and I hugged him and we both started crying. Our boss drove us home and I called my two best friends on the way home crying the entire time.
  • Bought Lake House(Psychosocial)

This was a great day. We finally closed on a lakehouse after a month of delays. I was so excited and could not wait to get the keys.
  • Nephew Louis's Birth (Biosocial)

My sister and her husband had their second child, a boy. He was so little and cute and I was so excited to hold him.
  • Nephew Geo's Birth (Biosocial)

This was so exciting as well. I was so happy that we got to be at the hospital to see my sister in law Kristy before she gave birth. It was really nice to be there for the entire process and the end result was a little boy. Our last name Tomasso finally has a boy to carry on the name!!!
  • Brother's second child

Biosocial- They are currently trying to have their second but it is not going as easy as the first time so I think this will be a good time frame for them. My sister in law wants another boy so that she can try for a girl on the third child. If they have a girl it will most likely be their last child. I love how she wants a boy just for an excuse to try for a third and get a girl.
  • My sister has her third child

Biosocial- I picked this time frame because my sister and her husband have way of planning her maternity leave around big sporting events. Her first child was during the last World Cup and her second kid was in April so she had off all the way after the fourth of July last year. The summer of 2016 is when the Summer Olympics are so this would be fitting.
  • I get engaged

Psychosocial- Hopefully this will not be too late for my current girlfriend. I have a feeling an ultimatum might come before this time period, jk!
  • Graduate from Nursing School

Cognitive- This will be a day of mixed emotions for me. I hope my mother is still around to see me graduate. I feel like I let my father down since he passed away before I could graduate but none the less I know he would be proud of me.
  • Get my first nursing job in an ICU

Psychosocial- This will be a huge event for me as it will serve as a marking point towards my overall end goal of becoming a Nurse Anestitists. This will also provide me with a sense of accomplishment for completing my current goals.
  • I get married

Psychosocial- Again, I hope that this will all work out. My current girlfriend wants a destination wedding but I'm not so sure that that is what I want.
  • Get accepted to Nurse Anestitist program

Cognitive- At this point I will have worked in the ICU for a year and will be eligable for further schooling. Another stepping stone to get to my over all goal!
  • Graduate as a Nurse Anestitist

Cognitive- I look forward to this day when I can truly feel like I have completed an important goal of mine and I will be able to provide a comfortable life for my family.
  • My first child

Psychosocial- I would honestly love to have a little girl first because girls are just so much fun but I would be just as happy to have a boy. My first cholce of name is Lily Sue for a girl and still undecided for the boy name.
  • My second child is born

Psychosocial- Hopefully the opposite sex of the first child will come out second just so that I can experience raising both a girl and a boy. It doesn't matter what sex's my children are because I am very excited to experience being a father.
  • My mother passes away

Psychosocial- I really hope my mother lives this long. The women in her family all have lived to their mid 80's so this would put her in that time frame. Like my own death, this is very difficult to think about since I am very close to my mother. She is a smoker so I hope that she does not have a long battle with cancer and have to suffer a lot. She really is an amazing woman.
  • My daughter's first boyfriend

Psychosocial/Cognitive- To be honest I dread this day happening because I don't want daddy's little girl to ever get her heart broken and no father wants to have to think about her daughter having sex. Hopefully her mother and I did a good job of raising her to be able to make good decisions and take care of herself. Either way, dad will be there to support her.
  • My first child graduates High School

Psychosocial- This will be a proud day to be a parent to have my kid graduate highschool. I hope that he/she is happy and figures out what he/she wants to do in life.
  • My second child graduates High School

Psychosocial- This will be another proud day to be a parent and hopefully my second kid will know what he/she wants to do in life, whether its college or working right out of highschool. Like my first child, I just hope that he/she is happy.
  • My first child graduates College

Psychosocial- Another proud day for me to be a parent. This is based on whether he/she chose to go to college. I hope he/she does so that they can experience what college is like and know what it is like to be mostly on their own.
  • I get to retire

Biosocial-This time frame will put me around 60 years old. I hope I get to retire sooner then this but most likely not since I got such a late start on going back to school and changing careers. Either way, I look forward to the journey that life takes me through.
  • My second child graduates College

Psychosocial- Once again I will be a proud parent to see my second kid graduate from college. Most importantly I just wish for my kids to be happy.
  • First Kid's wedding

Biosocial- I hope that at this point my child has met the person of his/her dreams and has a best friend that treats him/her right. Most importantly I hope the two are happy and spend a life time of making each other happy.
  • Second kid's wedding

Psychosocial- I just hope that my second kid getting married has also met someone that will make him/her a happy and treat him/her the right way. Again I just hope the t wo are very happy with a spouse and in life.
  • My Death

Cognitive/Biosocial/Psychosocial- I don't really like thinking about my own death at all. It scares me a lot and makes me think about everyone else in my life that will be impacted by it. I have four siblings and I feel bad for the one of us that lives the longest and has to be around for all the other siblings to pass away. I did not put my other siblings deaths on here because it makes me sick thinking about it.
