Exploration of Africa
The portuguese have been trying to find a ship passge that bypassed the mediterranean to Asia for trading purposes. While doing that, they built trading forts and conquered some African cities, which gave them more power for their trading kingdom. They were resisted by the inner African areas, but they did leave a lasting impression on the coastal African areas. -

This is the time where the Eurpeans are trying to find shortcutsto Asia because they wanted more efficient spice trading routes. Columbus found America, and mistook it for Asia. Amerigo Vespucci follows suit and comes to the conclusion that it is a new land. This is the time period really when people started to draw and erase on the worlld map, exploring the Earth. -

The theory developed after Charles Darwin's introduction of natural selection. It caused inequalities between races or groups of people, and promoted racism. A lot of people believed certain races just do better than others in life. They believe that natural selection applies to humans as well, with poor and rich people. -
