    The Arabs continued to allow Christian and Jewish pilgrims to visit Jerusalem. In 1095 another tribe conqured the great city and refused to let the the religous people in. About 30,000 knights and other fighting men took up the challenge and left to retake Jerusalem.

    The Magma Carta was a document that decraesed the power of kings. King John raised the taxes without asking the nobles. The nobles knew this was against the law of England. An archbishop read aloud to the king from a parchment he held, a parchment called the Magna Carta, the Great Charter.

    Pope Leo's plan required he get Charles the Great (Charlemagne) into the church. to do this the Pope needed a resson so he protended to be grateful to Charlemagne. Then Charlemagne becan the first empire since the original roman empire.

    Charlemagne or Charles the Great lived in 814. He cared for his family especially his dughters. He was kind to peasants or serfs and invited them to events such as dinner with him and his family. This man is a christian frankish king that was in modern day Germany.

    Charlemagne crowned his son, Louis, as Emperor. This was done without permission of the Pope who was furious but could do nothing. His son was a good man, a good son, but not a good emperor. The other Nobles saw this and began doing things without the permission or even telling Louis what they were doing. soon after the empire fell.
