    the ship was completley packed, we could not fit anyone else on the ship. and so we began our long journey to america. But it would not be as easy as I thought it would have been. it took two weeks, two long weeks to get to america.

    we arrived at ellis island. I had to go through many tests, they checked my bags, examined my skin for any possible diseases, then they gave me an apartment and a job, I appreciated the things that the americans were doing for me, they seem very generous.

    I got to work very early because i wanted to make sure i made a good impression. I think i did a good job for the first day, i did everything right, why wouldnt everyone think that i wouldnt be a good worker. when i got home that day i knew that i was going to be here for a long time.

    I had just heard about the new invention of steel. I decided to quit my job to join the skyscraper building buisness. People say that they make pretty decent wages so i'm hoping for the best.
  • Empire State Building

    I was informed back in 1929 that the state of new york would be building a new skyscraper, the Empire State Building. Its been two years since i was told about the Empire State Building, now its finished, finally finished. Me and my co-workers celebrate our hard work and happily go home proud that day.
